Using Smarty Uninstaller > Making (Restoring) Backups

Creating Backups

This topic explains how you can make a system settings backup. Since as Smarty Uninstaller works with registry and system files in your computer, we recommend you to create a backup of system settings before making any actions. You can access these features directly from the Smarty Uninstaller menu.

1. Registry Backup - making Registry Backup in few seconds.

Select 'Registry Backup' command in 'File' menu (see image below)

You will see window (just like on image below) with automatically generated name of registry backup. If you wish - you can choose other backup name by typing it in the text box.

Click 'Create' button and wait until backup process will be completed. By default registry backup will be saved to the application directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Smarty Uninstaller Pro\)

2. System Restore (Windows XP/Vista only) - creating system restore point. With this feature you can restore previous system state with few mouse clicks.

Select 'Create Restore Point...' command in 'File' menu (see image below)

Name of the system restore point will be automatically generated (you are free to choose your own name for backup).

Click 'Create' and wait for the message box that informs you about the successfully completed creation process.

Restoring Backups
